安切洛蒂当时曾已经与巴西足协达成协议，准备在2023-24赛季结束后执教巴西国家队。
不过后来，安帅的优先选择是留在皇马，因此，当弗洛伦蒂诺打电话告知他续约事宜时，安帅很快就接受了。在圣诞假期之前，安切洛蒂就已经知道自己会续约。
在度过此前的一段艰难时期后，皇马内部对新的一年充满乐观，几乎不再考虑任何在本赛季中途解雇安切洛蒂的可能性。
皇马管理层甚至提出，在安切洛蒂不再担任主教练后，希望让他在皇家马德里的组织架构中任职。
